Premiered for a standing-room-only concert audience at Boston's historic Trinity Church, these variations on the classic Latin Christmas hymn are intended primarily for use by church organists. The first three variations may be regarded as a single prelude, and the last as an ebullient postlude.

"…This charming partita is definitely more challenging the Fairest Lord Jesus set mentioned above, although it is not overly difficult. All the variations with the exception of the third could be played on one manual and pedal. The third, the lone manualiter setting, will present the greatest challenge because of its rhythmic irregularity.
